In his position as Head, Business Development (North) at Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc, Abayomi Ayegbusi is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and spearheading strategic initiatives that enhance the Company’s footprint across Northern Nigeria.

Abayomi is a seasoned insurance professional with over Twenty-Five (25) years of rich industry experience. His career spans core areas such as business opportunity identification and development, relationship management, deal negotiation, and strategy execution aimed at long-term business sustainability and growth.

Before joining Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc, Abayomi held notable positions across several reputable insurance firms including Leadway Assurance Company Limited, Consolidated Hallmark Assurance Plc, Standard Alliance Insurance Plc, and Old Mutual Nigeria. In these roles, he consistently delivered results in market penetration, portfolio diversification, and business retention.

A graduate of Sociology from the University of Ilorin, Abayomi further advanced his management acumen through the Management Advancement Programme at Witts Business School, South Africa. He is a Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), a Fellow of the International Certified Risk Management Professional, United Kingdom (ICRMP), and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management, Nigeria. He has participated in various leadership and professional development programs both within and outside Nigeria, continuously sharpening his expertise in insurance and business development.
